News release · 20 August 2026 · Ref. JHK-LTIOC/098/2026
Toronto, Canada — The Liberia Trade and Investment Office in Canada wishes to reassure the Governments of Liberia and Canada, international partners, investors, development institutions, and the Liberian and African diaspora of its continued commitment to transparency, professionalism, accountability, and the highest standards of official government engagements.
The Office confirms that Mr. Bill Quincy Sandy, formerly serving as Senior Advisor to the Office, has been recalled from his position following concerns relating to certain engagements involving investors and other partners.
We wish to clarify that any representations, commitments, or dealings undertaken by Mr. Sandy outside the established authority and protocols of the Government of Liberia and this Office do not constitute official engagements or commitments of the Government of Liberia.
The Office remains fully operational and committed to protecting investor confidence and the integrity of Liberia’s trade and investment promotion efforts. All official engagements are required to follow established government protocols and appropriate lines of authority.
