The Office at the 2025 Africa CEO Forum, Abidjan

The Office took part in the Africa CEO Forum, held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire from 11 to 14 May 2025. The four-day event brought together delegates from Canada, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia and other African countries.

Liberia was represented by Mr Lansana M. Kromah, Officer for Trade and Commerce, who spoke to company executives about infrastructure, energy, agriculture, mining and transportation, and described these as areas embedded in the Government’s ARREST Agenda.

Speaking at the forum, Mr Kromah said Liberia had empowered the General Auditing Commission and the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, and described a “zero-tolerance policy on corruption” as a pillar of the country’s economic revival. He also told delegates that Liberia had introduced a duty-free regime on several essential goods and that “Liberia’s trade policy is nondiscriminatory”.

Mr Kromah also described agriculture as Liberia’s “greenest opportunity” and identified tourism as a priority sector. He reported that the Office secured two investment commitments during the forum, the details of which were not disclosed.
