Medical supplies for the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital

The Office secured a donation of medical supplies valued at over US$522,000 for the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Memorial Hospital in Monrovia. The donation was made through Dr Ken Singh, President of Atlas Cargo in Toronto.

The consignment included syringes and needles, isolation gowns, face masks and sterilised disposable gloves.

Hon. Jallahqueena Hawa Konneh visited the hospital and was given a tour by its Chief Executive, Dr Linda Birch. She said the two organisations had been discussing the hospital’s needs and how the Office could contribute to “creating a sustainable partnership, moving beyond ‘band-aid’ solutions”.

The Office and Atlas Cargo intend the arrangement to continue beyond this consignment, and discussions on further support are ongoing.
